This is DFI’s first Compact module powered by AMD® Embedded G-Series SoC which is delivering up to 70% overall improvement over AMD® G-Series APU. This new module with the latest AMD® embedded G-Series processor-based SoC platform that features power efficiency, high performance, and enhanced multimedia capabilities is well-suited for intelligent systems that display videos, graphics and interactive content such as gaming machines.
This graphics-rich module using the advanced discrete-level GPU integrated in the processor supports high-end enhanced media and graphics capabilities. The quad-core/dual core G-Series SoC offers higher performance with low power consumption and supports up to 8 GB DDR3 SODIMM system memory. There is also an optional onboard SSD that offers the persistent function of data storage. KB968 is designed with 3 display interfaces: 1 VGA, 1 DP/ LVDS, and 1 DP. In addition, this new compact module supports hardware acceleration for DirectX 11.1, H.264, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC, VC-1 and WMV. All these contribute to delivering excellent graphics capability.
The superior performance Type 6 module takes full advantage of the AMD® Embedded G-Series SoC which is packed with updated expansion interfaces, including 1 PCIe x4, 4 PCIe x1, 1 LAN, 8 USB, 2 SATA, 1 LPC, 1 I²C, 1 SMBus, 2 serial, and 8-bit Digital I/O for device controls. With these flexible interfaces, it allows your systems to process more data load and provide faster loading of frequently used applications.
