Leading the Industry! DFI Signs a MOU with ARTC and VicOne Creating key information security protection by integrating embedded systems and Internet of Vehicles technologies

President Alexander Su of DFI (2397), the world leading brand in embedded motherboards and industrial computers, attended 2035 E-Mobility Taiwan yesterday (12th). In addition to demonstrating the electric vehicle T-Box project with the Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC) of the Department of Industrial Technology (DoTI), Ministry of Economic Affairs, the President also signed the three-way Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ARTC and VicOne, Trend Micro’s automotive information security subsidiary at the booth to integrate embedded systems and Internet of Vehicle technologies together. The partnership will create comprehensive information security protection for electric vehicles and connected transportation by ensuring that related equipment comply with international standards and safety verifications.

The annual iconic events for the international automobile and motorcycle industry for 2023, “TAIPEI AMPA,” “AUTOTRONICS TAIPEI,” and “2035 E-Mobility Taiwan,” began yesterday. The exhibitions include combustion vehicles, electric motorcycles and automobiles, and self-driving vehicles, completely demonstrating the automotive parts supply chain and smart mobility industry ecosystem. The exhibitions provide a comprehensive demonstration and exchange platform for automobile and motorcycle hardware and software, after-sales services, and smart mobility solutions.

In response to the booming electric vehicle industry, information security protection is deployed in advance

President Alexander Su of DFI stated that with the net zero carbon emissions trend sweeping the world, development of the electric vehicle and new energy vehicle industries has been accelerated. Electric vehicles are not only transportation. They are also highly software-oriented products, like mobile large-scale data centers. Therefore, information security will play a key role in the integration of automotive systems.

The signing of the MOU between DFI, ARTC, and VicOne realizes the advanced deployment of information security protection for connected vehicles. The protection can effectively defend against attacks from hackers and is designed according to international standards and legal safety verifications, providing comprehensive preparations for future smart cities.

The DFI automotive communication controller T-Box project integrates compression and encryption algorithms and information security software

This year, DFI is focused on the four major development trends of vehicle automation, connection, electrification, and sharing. DFI is working with ARTC to build the unmanned self-driving minibus, WinBus. WinBus adopts DFI’s automotive communication controller T-Box solution, which is equipped with the low power consumption, high reliability automotive system VC900-M8M with ARM architecture. The dedicated vehicle interface in the computer can connect to the sensors and collect vehicle data. During the process, the compression and encryption algorithms provided by ARTC are used for backend remote dynamic analysis. Together with the VicOne automotive information security software, the system can ensure that the connected vehicles and device communications are protected, as well as detect abnormal data signals and issue real-time alerts.

With the wave of new infrastructure brought by global industrial automation and digital transformations, DFI will work with partners to continue to develop and integrate embedded computing products, providing the most advanced solutions for various smart transportation applications together. DFI will become the best partner for smart OT to lay the foundation for the future.
